Manic Media is an episodic, interactive comedy story involving the fictional employees of a small, new media production company called Manic Media Inc. Their main project is an ill-fated, ill-conceived work-in-progress called Cyberfellini, which is being billed as “the most important multimedia project ever produced.” Not only is Cyberfellini extremely buggy, but it embodies everything that is frustrating and bogus about the Internet, multimedia and computers in general.
Each new episode centers on the difficulties in producing this new media albatross for their sullen, money-crunching Client, and the general mayhem of the company itself. The software is “buggy”, the employees are “bugging” each other, and the Client is “bug-eyed” with worry.
